Foster Grandparent Program

Foster Grandparent Program

Grandparents play a huge role in the development of children! Studies indicate that children with grandparental-relationships show fewer behavioral and emotional problems. The Foster Grandparent Program pairs senior volunteer participants with a local school to provide mentorship and assistance with classwork and extracurricular activities. Foster Grandparents develop relationships with the children in the Detroit area and have a direct positive impact on their lives. If you’re interested in becoming a Foster Grandparent, contact Director of Senior Programs Tree Lipar at (313) 637-1042 or tlipar@mchsmi.org.
