Detroit Showed Up. And What a Night It Was.

More than 500 guests came together at Ford Field for the 2026 MCHS Light the Way Gala, bringing the energy, dressing to impress, and walking our very own blue carpet. It was an unforgettable evening and a powerful reminder of what happens when a community comes together around something that matters.

This year’s theme, The Next Chapter, was more than a celebration of what’s ahead. It was a glimpse of what’s possible when we show up earlier for children, young adults, and families, before a moment of crisis becomes a lifetime of challenges.

An Evening of Inspiration

We were honored to welcome Detroit Lions legend Lomas Brown, whose presence and passion made the evening even more memorable.
We were equally grateful to our special MCHS program speakers, who shared their personal experiences and reminded us why the next chapter matters. Their stories brought our mission to life in ways no statistic ever could.

Their voices reinforced a powerful message: The next chapter starts long before the first page is turned.

Building What's Next.

It starts when a young mother has a safe place to call home. When she has the support to care for her child while building a future of her own. When a family receives the resources it needs to stay together.

That’s the vision behind MCHS’s new Mom & Baby Program, designed to help young mothers navigate parenthood, build stability, and create brighter futures for themselves and their children.
